This applicator is used in a manner similar to head 16, but because of its narrower width, it fits more easily over the cervical and is well suited to straddle the spinal column, when used for back massage. It is well-adapted for manipulation of the smaller joints, because the balls can be worked into the flesh while the oval plate connecting the balls is high enough to override intervening bony structures.
